Fighting Cancer with Food

  1. Strive to eliminate all animal products from your diet – beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish, eggs,  and dairy (milk, yogurt, butter, ice cream and cheese).
     
  2. Strive to eliminate processed foods,  foods made from refined grains such as white flour and sugars (white breads, muffins, cookies, bagels, or doughnuts), sugar added beverages, sugared snacks, candy and desserts.
     
  3. Eat a Cancer Fighting Diet of vegetables, fruits, beans/legumes, whole grains and moderate amounts of nuts and seeds. 
     
  4. Eat Cruciferous vegetables everyday (raw and cooked): Arugula, Bok choy, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Collard greens, Horseradish, Kale, Radishes, Rutabaga, Turnips, Watercress, and Wasabi.
     
  5. Eat Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Onions and Garlic everyday
     
  6.  Drink 3 cups of Green Tea everyday
     
  7. Use Milk substitutes: Almond, Hemp, Soy, or Rice milk (avoid additive - carrageenan)
     
  8. Soy is Safe and beneficial for cancer: edamame, tofu, tempeh.  (Avoid soy protein isolate – a processed soy product that resembles animal protein).
     
  9. If you do choose to eat meat – use very sparingly (less than 5-10% of your caloric intake), never grill, only slow cook and never eat processed meats (bacon, hot dogs and lunch meats)
     
  10. Have 1-2 tablespoons of Ground Flaxseed daily
     
  11. Use Tumeric in your cooking
     
  12. Eat your cancer fighting fruits – All berries – but, especially Blueberries, Strawberries and  Black Raspberries, Pomegranates or Pomegranate Juice (real juice – not flavored), Apples, Lemons, and Red Grapes.
     
  13. Eat lots of beans and lentils
     
  14. Exercise 30 minutes a day or 1 hour 3 x a week, limit or eliminate alcohol
     
  15. Don’t forget B12 – any dose  - at least once a week
